Coaching Staff
Coach Fravel will be entering his first season as SCHS Varsity Baseball Head Coach., having been involved with the program for many years on and off over the last 22 years while teaching in the State College High School Math Department. Coach Fravel played baseball at Penn State University from 1992-1994 under the late Coach Joe Hindelang. He always knew he wanted to coach the game he loved and started his first High School Varsity Head Coaching job in the Spring of 1996. Most of the last 31 years have involved coaching baseball at many different levels, many different schools, and in many different states. Coach Fravel has won 3 different State Titles (1997 & 2000 at Rising Sun HS, MD, and 2016 at Bellefonte HS, PA). Also in 2001, Coach Fravel was named Maryland State Coach of the Year, and more recently Coach Fravel was Inducted into the local Class of 2025 Centre and Clinton County Baseball Hall of Fame. Baseball has always been a passion, but it is simply a game to have fun, and a platform to teach young men how to become winners in life. If you toss in the discipline to commit to the fundamentals, and create a team culture of competitiveness to push each other.....the sky’s the limit.
From Coach Fravel "It is a great honor to be involved with the State College Area Baseball Community as we send it into a new era. It's Game Time Fellas!!"
